Job summary

Temple Health – Temple University Health System in Philadelphia is seeking a Part-Time Nursing Support professional to assist with direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You will perform vital signs, ECGs, capillary glucose checks, and assist with activities of daily living while maintaining confidentiality and our Customer Service standards.

Day shift, 16 hours per week, on-site at 3401 North Broad Street.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Nursing assistant or medical assistant training preferred.
• Clinical rotation in accredited nursing program helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN guidance.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes.
• Perform ECGs and capillary glucose checks.
• Adhere to department policies and Customer Service standards.

Day Shift

Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs. Provides comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living: personal care needs, nutritional and elimination needs. Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose needs. Observes and reports the functioning of equipment, the results of treatments, condition of dressings and any change in patient condition. Incorporates the concepts of the Hospital's Customer Service Program into all aspects of patient care activities (i.e. confidentiality, responsiveness, caring). Accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities. Adheres to policies and procedures of the department.

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program Preferred

Experience

• 1 year experience in a patient care role Preferred

• Basic Life Support Required
