Job summary

Mercy South Float Pool Team is seeking a Patient Care Associate to assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN. This full-time role offers 36 hours per week with night shifts 7p–7a, working across diverse units in the Mercy system.

You will join a team that emphasizes collaboration, safety, and compassionate patient support, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, PTO, tuition assistance, and retirement matching for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare career program; or current Mercy co-worker.
• Mercy provides 175-hour state-required PCA training during new hire orientation, to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Certifications: BLS required within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months; CNA preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC. or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• In the state of practice: If no previous experience, Mercy will provide a required 175-hour training program that meets the state of practice Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. The program will be completed as part of the new hire orientation process and must be completed within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCA position per state guidelines.
• Certifications: BLS Required within one month of hire, completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Preferred Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• Physical requirements/demands:
• Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
