Job summary

UF Health in Saint Augustine is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will help deliver safe, patient-centered care and maintain a clean, orderly environment while demonstrating service excellence.

This is a full-time role with day shifts and weekend coverage as needed. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, and the ability to learn hospital computer systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than one year of experience expected.
• BLS Certification required; CPI training within 90 days of hire for Psychiatric unit.

Overview

Full time 36 hours/week | 6:45am - 7:15pm

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills:

• 1. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• 2. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• 3. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications:

• -Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• -Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.
