Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL, is seeking a patient care teammate to assist with ADLs under RN supervision. You will help with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and basic care, while keeping rooms clean and stocked in a fast-paced environment.

Two or more BLS certifications are required, and a minimum of three months of patient care experience or completion of a formal training program is expected. EKG/phlebotomy competencies must be achieved within six months.

Qualifications

• No degree required; basic patient care duties.
• BLS certifications from American Heart required.
• EKG and phlebotomy competencies needed within 6 months of hire.
• Three months of patient care experience or completion of a training program.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living.

Summary

Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care and other related technical and clinical support activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, and eating.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.
• Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including but not limited to: monitoring vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Monitors patient status and response; Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assist with transporting patients, as needed.
