Job summary

Trinity Health Muskegon is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our hospital team on the night shift. The PCA works under the direction of an RN to assist patients with hygiene, activities of daily living and mobility, while supporting quality of care in a collaborative environment.

We offer a full-time schedule with a weekend rotation and orientation period. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, CEU coverage, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or 6 months of direct Patient Care experience, or completion of clinical rotation in Nursing School, or enrollment in Trinity Health Muskegon PCA program.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups from diverse perspectives.
• Demonstrates commitment to mission and values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient call lights for assistance or by rounding.
• Provide or assist patients with personal hygiene including showers, oral hygiene and dressing/undressing.
• Transport patients for procedures, transfers or discharge.
• Maintain a clean and uncluttered environment in patient rooms.

72hrs per pp 7p-7:30a

Set rotating schedule to include set weekend rotation up to every other weekend. Schedule will be given after successfully completing the orientation period. Management does have discretion to change schedule 30 days prior to the start of the 6-week scheduling periods if needed. Holidays scheduled in accordance with CBA
