Job summary

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking dedicated Patient Care Assistants to support seniors in the Central Illinois area. The PCA role offers $16-$20/hour, a $400 sign-on bonus, weekly pay, and benefits including health care, PTO, and telehealth, with flexible full-time, part-time or PRN schedules.

You will assist with mobility, personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transportation under a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own a vehicle with current insurance.
• Social Security Card.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to adhere to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility.
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.

Patient Care Assistant - PCA Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
