Job summary

Visiting Angels Tyler is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support East Texas seniors with compassionate in-home care. You will be a trusted companion providing personal care, mobility assistance, light housekeeping, and meal support in clients' homes, helping families stay independent.

We offer growth through training, opportunities for dementia or Alzheimer’s care, and a range of shifts including part-time and longer day/night options.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of caregiving experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to respond quickly and safely in emergencies.
• Commitment to compassionate in-home care and elder respect.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Help clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able).
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.

Patient Care Assistant - PCA Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication

Patient Care Assistant - PCA Requirements

• 2 Years Previous Caregiving Experience
• Valid Driver's License (ID Card only is not sufficient)
• Vehicle with current Insurance
• Passion to serve others - a true caregiver
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful and compassionate
• Good time management skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
