Job summary

Visiting Angels Wichita Falls is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support local seniors in Wichita Falls and surrounding areas such as Bowie and Montague. This role focuses on compassionate at-home care, mobility assistance, light housekeeping, meal prep, and companionship.

We offer training in dementia care and Alzheimer's care to grow your skills. Full-time and part-time shifts, including 8, 10, 12 hour options and PRN, are available with weekly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Passion to serve others and provide compassionate care.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Respectful and compassionate with strong ethics.
• Good time management and outstanding communication skills.
• Strong ethics, physical endurance, and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility around the home or on outings.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Help with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals with client input.
• Do client's shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping.
• Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
• Report unusual incidents; act quickly in emergencies.

Patient Care Assistant - PCA Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
