Saint Joseph Hospital, part of CommonSpirit Health, in Lexington, KY, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and assist nursing staff with vital signs and room preparation.

You will help with personal hygiene, mobility and feeding, and monitor patient conditions, reporting changes and accepting coaching to ensure compassionate, safe care. This role emphasizes closeness to patients and teamwork with RN staff.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma, GED or SRNA
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities. Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms. Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
