Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Health Aide to provide patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include ADLs, vital signs, hygiene, transporting patients, and documenting care activities in accordance with policies. 12-hour shifts may apply, with on-site duties in a hospital setting.

Prior CNA/HA experience and completion of UAP training within 90 days are preferred. Eligible benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Six months of Nursing Assistant/Health Aid experience or current enrollment in LPN/RN program preferred.
• Credentials: AHA Heartsaver AED. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period.
• Knowledge: Proficient in English, verbal and written communication.
• Special Training: Capital Health UAP Training program within 90 days of employment.
• Usual Work Day: 12 Hours

Responsibilities

• Performs supportive patient care duties including ADLs, patient hygiene, vital signs, obtaining weights, emptying and documenting intake and output, phlebotomy, glucometer testing, EKGs, positioning, lifting and ambulation of patients.
• Transports patients, medications, supplies and specimens as requested.
• Records nursing care activities and reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Complies with hospital policies, safety equipment use, and proper documentation.
• Stocks and maintains unit supplies and participates in care coordination.

Position Overview

• Performs supportive patient care duties including ADLs, patient hygiene, vital signs, obtaining weights, emptying and documenting of intake and output, performing phlebotomy and glucometer testing, EKG's, positioning, lifting and the ambulation of patients.
• Performs transports as requested (of patients, medications, supplies and specimens).
• Performs and records nursing care activities, such as changes in a patient's condition and behavior consistent with established policies, procedures, and protocols, as delegated by the registered nurse responsible for the patient.
• Performs job tasks in accordance with hospital and department policy and procedure, including appropriate use of equipment, machines, appropriate use in wearing physical barriers and safety equipment.
• Stocks and maintains supplies as required by the designated unit.
• Documents observations and activities on appropriate records and documents; reports findings to the registered nurse.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Experience: Six months of Nursing Assistant/Health Aid experience or currently enrolled in LPN/RN nursing program preferred.
