Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin is seeking a Part Time Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or CNA/PCT with related experience. You will assist with direct and indirect patient care under supervision, following nursing practice guidelines and performing delegated tasks within legal scope.

Openings include Float pool across departments and Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Neuro/Peds/Trauma units. Requires 18+ and Basic Life Support certification; orientation provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• Completion of 12 college credits - OR - High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
• Maintains Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from AHA or Red Cross; certification included if not currently held.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision.
• Carry out delegated skills within the scope of unlicensed nursing personnel.
• Float pool: staff are scheduled and work in a variety of hospital departments across the NWWI region.
• Care for patients in Medical Surgical, Telemetry/Progressive Care, Neuro/Peds/Trauma units.

Responsibilities

The skills and responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) align closely with those of a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT), making this a great opportunity for those with CNA experience.

The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.

We have openings in:
Float pool: Staff are scheduled and work in a variety of hospital departments across the NWWI region.

Medical Surgical: 40-bed inpatient unit that cares for a diverse patient population including general medical, general surgery, orthopedics, oncology, and urology.

Medical Surgical Wishart 2: 17-bed unit that cares for a diverse patient population including general medical and general surgical.

Medical Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit: 40-bed inpatient unit that cares for surgical, general medical, and interventional cardiac care.

Neuro/Peds/Trauma: 40-bed inpatient unit that cares for surgical, general medical, traumas, neurological and neurosurgical, and pediatrics.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.

Additional qualifications:
Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.

License or certification:
Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
