Job summary

Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and assist nursing staff with vital signs and room prep.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or SRNA.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required upon hire.
• 1–3 years of direct patient care experience.
• CPR must be current within 14 days of hire.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
• Obtains and records daily weightPerforms blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
• Reports changes in patient’s status promptly to RNPerforms as patient care companion when needed

Job Requirements
