Job summary

CommonSpirit Health\'s Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY is seeking a Patient Care Assistant. You will support patients with daily living activities, assist nursing staff with vital signs, and help prepare patient rooms to create a safer, more comfortable environment.

If you are compassionate, diligent, and open to coaching, you will contribute to patient well-being and collaborate with RNs in a 52-bed facility recognized for teamwork and care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or SRNA required.
• Basic Life Support - CPR required upon hire.
• 1-3 years direct patient care experience required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR to be completed within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care as delegated by RN staff
• Monitors and records vital signs
• Assists in providing personal hygiene and physical care needs
• Accurately measures, records, and reports intake and output
• Obtains and records daily weight. Performs blood glucose testing using blood glucose meter
• Reports changes in patient\'s status promptly to RN. Performs as patient care companion when needed

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities. Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms. Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.
