Job summary

UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, CO is seeking a Nights shift Patient Care Assistant lead to support 4 East Tower under the supervision of an RN, leading PCA/ACP staff and guiding team performance.

This full-time onsite role offers a 72-hour per pay period schedule with pay between $19.68 and $29.53 per hour, depending on experience. A High School diploma or GED and BLS/CPR certification are required before start date.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 6 months of relevant experience.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Partners with manager to assign and lead on-boarding and precepting of new PCA and ACP staff.
• Provides mentoring, monitoring, coaching, and evaluation of PCA and ACP staff, especially in the areas of productivity and quality management.
• Takes lead on quality initiatives such as fall prevention and skin protection, and other identified PCA and ACP workflow changes and education.
• Perform all responsibilities of primary role. Takes responsibility for, or provides guidance to team members on the handling of simple or complex issues.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Summary

• Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. Leads team members of an assigned area or function by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Partners with manager to assign and lead on-boarding and precepting of new PCA and ACP staff.
