Role Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment through patient checks, safety monitoring, and line of sight or one-on-one care as directed.
• Assist RNs with patient care tasks such as vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, and patient education.
• Manage the milieu effectively to promote positive patient experiences.
• Escort patients to activities, meals, breaks, and appointments outside the unit.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting, especially with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients, is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, a good Motor Vehicle Report, and proof of insurance are required if using personal or hospital vehicles.
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and before patient contact.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
