Mayo Clinic, an award-winning health system, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant in Eau Claire, WI. This role supports nursing staff with delegated patient care tasks and works under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Candidates must meet age and education requirements and maintain BLS certification or obtain it during orientation. The position is full-time with a 12-hour day/night rotation, a weekend and holiday schedule, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age prior to start date.
• 12 college credits or a high school diploma/GED with Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from American Heart Association or American Red Cross; if not current, certification will be provided during orientation.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age prior to start date. Completion of 12 college credits -OR- High school diploma/ GED with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant training or equivalent preferred. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross. If a candidate does not currently have their Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross the Basic Life Support, certification will be included as part of the orientation program.
