Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Ambulatory Surgery department. This Full Time Day position offers 10-hour shifts with potential weekends and reports to the RN in charge of the team.

The role supports patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care under supervision, and helps maintain a safe environment for all patients within the unit.

Qualifications

• Current phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Skills

6 months acute care experience

Education

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
