Trinity Health Muskegon is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for a full-time night shift. You will support RN-directed patient care, help with hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities in a compassionate, person-centered environment.

Responsibilities include answering call lights, assisting with showers and grooming, transporting patients, and maintaining clean rooms. The schedule is rotating with a weekend rotation; orientation is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) qualification or Nursing School clinical rotation.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift Description: 72hrs per pp 7p-7:30a Set rotating schedule to include set weekend rotation up to every other weekend. Schedule will be given after successfully completing the orientation period. Management does have discretion to change schedule 30 days prior to the start of the 6-week scheduling periods if needed. Holidays scheduled in accordance with CBA

Position Summary:

Patient Care Assistant, PCA works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a RN. A Patient Care Assistant, PCA is expected to assist the patient in maintaining good hygiene, activities of daily living and to support quality of patient care.

What Patient Care Assistant, PCA will do:

Respond to patient call lights for assistance or by rounding.
Provide or assist patients with personal hygiene including showers, oral hygiene and dressing/undressing.
Transports patients as needed for procedures, transfers or discharge.
Maintains a clean and uncluttered environment in patient rooms.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent Certified Nursing Assistant or 6 months of experience direct Patient Care Assistant or Nurse Tech, or completion of at least 1 clinical rotation in Nursing School, or enrollment in the Trinity Health Muskegon PCA program. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing divers perspectives. Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organization.
