What You Will Do in This Role
  • Observe and maintain a safe milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, and other duties, including completing 15‑minute checks, monitoring for contraband, evaluating changes in condition, and providing line‑of‑sight or one‑on‑one care as directed.
  • Adhere to tasks delegated by the RN related to patient care, including vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
  • Demonstrate effective milieu management skills that promote positive patient experiences.
  • Accompany patients to off‑unit activities such as meals, outside breaks, visits, out‑of‑building activities, and appointments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and favorable Motor Vehicle Report required, along with proof of insurance when using a personal or hospital‑owned vehicle.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
