Job summary

The Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Corporation is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support patients with daily living activities and basic clinical tasks in a hospital setting. Under licensed supervision, you will take vital signs, assist with mobility, document care, and communicate health concerns to the nursing team.

A $750 sign-on bonus, tuition reimbursement, and pathways into nursing are available.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist with patient mobility.
  • Strong patient/customer service skills; good communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Take vital signs including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
  • Document in the medical record and report health concerns to nurses.
  • Support patients with mobility and basic hygiene tasks.
  • Work under supervision of licensed personnel in a collaborative team.

Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.Does this position require Patient Care? YesPerforms vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.Interacts with patients and their families effectively.Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
