Job summary

Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Florida, seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care under RN supervision, including vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, and glucose checks.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months of patient care experience demonstrating the ability to perform basic patient care or certification of completion from formal training program required.
• EKG and phlebotomy competencies are required within six (6) months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Monitor patient status and report abnormal findings or changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with transporting patients as needed.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, grooming, eating.
• Keep patient rooms/areas stocked, clean and orderly.
• Additional duties as assigned.
