Visiting Angels Boise is seeking a Patient Care Aide (PCA) to support seniors in Caldwell, Nampa, Meridian and surrounding areas. This role offers flexible schedules, a variety of shifts (FT/PT, days/weekends), weekly pay, and a $500 sign-on bonus to start.

As a PCA you will assist with personal care, light housekeeping, mobility, meal prep, medication reminders, and errands while building trusting relationships with home-based clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Excellent time-management skills are essential.
• Reliable transportation to client visits is needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are valued.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks is preferred.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response is recommended.
• A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship is important.
• Willingness to comply with state and office health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene.
• Managing light housekeeping.
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals.
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times.
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them).
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability).
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation, including attending doctor visits and going on walks.

A Visiting Angels Patient Care Aide - PCA wears many hats as they help our elderly and home-care clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity.

While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include:

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation—this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks

A Patient Care Aide - PCA must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. This includes adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances. Our caregivers possess the ideal blend of competency, compassion, and professional discernment.
