Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides hygiene care assistance; positions patient correctly and cares for isolated patients.
• Assists with nutritional and hydration needs of the patient.
• Assists with elimination; collects and labels specimens as directed.
• Supports patient transport and helps during discharge; ensures safe ambulation.
• Communicates patient status to the primary nurse and with family and staff.
• Obtains vital signs on admission and as directed by nursing staff.
• Explains care to the patient and family; answers questions within scope.
• Demonstrates flexibility and organizational skills under stress.
• Responds to emergencies or distress and documents per policy.
• Assumes accountability for appropriate resource utilization.
