Job summary

Rawlins County Health Center in Kansas seeks a compassionate CNA to assist nursing staff with patient care, vital signs, and daily tasks. The role involves positioning, feeding, and monitoring patients, with emphasis on safety and professional bedside manner.

The position requires willingness to be trained to hospital care standards and CPR certification; prior administrative and clerical duties may be included. Reports to the Director of Nursing and works day shifts on a PRN basis.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: new and non-certified nursing assistants must be willing to be trained to hospital care standards.
• If not certified, will have experience in vital sign procurement, hands-on patient care, and transferring and other on the job training.
• Maintains CPR certification as part of professional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services for patients’ comfort and well-being.
• Escort patients, orient them to the room, and assist with admission questionnaires including vital signs.
• Serve and collect meal trays and feed patients needing assistance.
• Maintain bedside water and assist with patient transport on stretchers or in wheelchairs.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in educational programs and in-service training.
• Complete clerical duties related to patient transfers, discharges, and chart maintenance.
