Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years patient pre-services coordinator experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding application.
• Clear verbal communication using appropriate terminology.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and demographics before treatment.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Assess patients' ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements.
• Educate patients on financial assistance programs and assist with forms.
• Complete Patient Cost Estimate forms based on diagnosis and coverage.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and signature.
• Forward information to the billing office.
• Obtain pre-authorization or referral approval codes prior to each treatment.
• Review patient balances and notify front desk of patients to meet with.
• Ensure correct entry of patient co-pay into the system.
• Verify and update demographics and insurance coverage at each visit per SOPs.
• Stay current on available financial aid.
• Develop relationships with financial aid providers.
• Network with providers to obtain leads to other aid programs.
• Adhere to confidentiality, HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient records.
• Maintain manuals, logs, forms, and documentation.
• Perform additional duties as requested.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
