Summary
Summary: The Patient Advocate I position is the “first impression” position of Advance Dental Center. The PA is part of the front office team and is the liaison between patients and back office staff. This position takes on front office responsibilities while providing a high level of customer service. The patient advocate reports directly to the office manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and build rapport with patients as they enter into the dental practice.
- Answer phone calls in a timely manner.
- Verify patients’ appointments through email, text and phone calls through Open Dental.
- Make proactive phone calls to schedule appointments off the ASAP list.
- Check in all patients for their appointments.
- Maintain and update patients' profiles within Open Dental as needed prior to the appointment.
- Ensure that the patient's dental insurance is verified prior to the appointment.
- Collect patient fees and copays prior to the appointment.
- Ensure that the patient understands their treatment plan and payment options.
- Provide patients with quotes on dental procedures.
- Ensure that the patient is checked out and is offered a follow-up appointment.
- Ensure that the reception and front desk areas are always clean and sterilized.
- Inform the office manager about ordering office supply needs as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Must be able to provide a high level of customer service.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience working in the dental field is preferred.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a face-paced environment.
- Must follow HIPAA compliance.
- Must be well organized and have excellent computer skills.
- Must be able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to work in an area where the noise level is typical of an office environment.
