Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of third party billing experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with third party payer and government billing requirements.

• Perform audits of patient accounts for accuracy and timely payment.
• Verify insurance benefits for commercial, Medicare and Medicaid payers.
• Identify and correct billing errors and resubmit claims.
• Ensure timely follow up and appropriate escalation of outstanding claims with payers.
• Review EOBs and initiate appeals as necessary.
• Verify payments and discounts with insurance carriers.
• Work appeals and denials; perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
