Job summary

Chino Valley Medical Center, a Prime Healthcare facility, is seeking a Patient Account Registrar to perform patient interviews, verify demographics and insurance information in the evenings.

You will collaborate with Admitting and reception teams, input data accurately, and communicate with a diverse patient population while maintaining medical terminology proficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer Services experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)

Responsibilities

• Interview the patient or representative to obtain demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.
• Work closely with Admitting, PBX operator function and reception areas.
• Input and retrieve data using a computer.

Responsibilities

The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics. This position also secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits and other forms of compensation, is $23.00 The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
