Prime Healthcare Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking a Patient Account Registrar for the Admitting department. The role interviews patients or representatives to obtain demographics, and secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable.

You will work with PBX and reception teams and input data on a computer. The position requires strong communication, multitasking and analytical skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and prior hospital

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

• Customer Services experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent required.

Responsibilities

The Patient Account Registrar interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics. This position also secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable. Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department including PBX operator function and reception areas. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Ability to communicate with the population served, utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• 2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• 3. Effective written and verbal communication skills
• 4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
• 5. Analytical and problem-solving skills
• 6. Customer Services experience required
• 7. High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Pay Transparency

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $19.84. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
