The Opportunity

This position is an on-site role, and candidates must be able to work on-site at Ardent - BSA Hospital in Amarillo, TX.

We are searching for the next Patient Access Supervisor Champion.

Position Summary

The Patient Access Supervisor organizes and coordinates the activities of assigned staff to ensure safe, effective and appropriate work in a fiscally responsible manner. Handles and solves problems related to area of assignment. Maintains a working knowledge of functions in area of responsibility. Works in conjunction with patient access manager to develop and coach staff, creating optimal performance. Conducts and oversees orientation and training of all Patient Access staff. Performs Revenue Cycle tasks that are necessary to ensure compliance and excellent customer service. Assist Patient Access Manager with day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all registration duties with direct and indirect reporting employees. Ensure registration and pre-registration duties are completed daily.
  • Provide training to staff. Monitor daily productivity and communicate to staff. Provide and review reporting to track department performance in key metrics (point of service, wait times, overtime, productivity, and others as necessary).
  • Prepare and distribute reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually or as requested). Assign and coordinate staff schedule, including rotation, time off, and call-offs. Ensure department schedules align with organizational policies and minimize overtime while maximizing productivity.
  • Oversee upfront collection process tracking and monitoring. Set goals and provide coaching and corrective action as appropriate. Manage on-call rotation (days, nights, weekends) and provide administrative/educational guidance as needed.
  • Assist with developing department processes and procedures. Conduct staff training, education, and development. Conduct audits to ensure acceptable performance and provide continual coaching and education as necessary. Act as a resource for staff and ancillary departments.
  • Promote standards of behavior to provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers. Hold self and others accountable for behaviors that promote service excellence.
  • Manage assigned projects related to implementation, tracking, and process changes. Report to Patient Access Leadership regularly and participate in daily facility activities as assigned. Gather statistical information of the department and work in designated areas as needed.
  • Assist with staff evaluations. Maintain time/attendance system. Attend facility meetings to ensure process alignment and effective communication between clinical teams and our team.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required/Preferred:

  • 2 Year/Associates Degree or 4 year/Bachelor's Degree, Business preferred
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare or a business field preferred
  • Ability to lead/direct others; high degree of analytical ability; working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of registration, insurance, scheduling, and/or verification and hospital billing
  • Education Level: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Certification: Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR)
