Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will verify demographics, insurance, and financial data, and help patients navigate MyChart and scheduling. This role directly impacts patient experience and the revenue cycle.

You will work with the care team, answer inquiries, and ensure accurate registration while maintaining PHI security and contributing to a smooth patient flow across the system.

Qualifications

• Experience handling patient information and insurance data.
• Familiarity with EPIC patient registration workflows.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in and out for visits.
• Answer the phone and schedule appointments.
• Assist patients with MyChart enrollment and usage.
• Enter and validate patient demographics, insurance and financial information.
• Communicate information to the care team and coordinate with insurance on coverage/billing.
• Collect and process patient payments (copays, coinsurance, deductibles).
• Assist with paperwork and forms as needed.
• Navigate EPIC workqueues, worklists and inbasket messages.
• Arrange referrals and follow-up visits.
• Scan documents accurately into EPIC.
