Job summary

Northwestern Medical Center is seeking a Practice Support Specialist for its Urology clinic in St. Albans, VT. The role is full-time, on-site, with a schedule roughly 8:00 a.m.

– 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, and a pay range of $17.21–$23.35 per hour. The position requires strong customer service and clerical skills in a busy medical office. Responsibilities include registering patients, scheduling appointments, answering the phone, handling insurance verifications, and supporting multiple clinics

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior clerical work experience in a medical office preferred.
• Experience with an electronic health record, medical billing, insurance claims, medical records, and/or patient registration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors.
• Schedules appointments per templates; manages wait lists and cancellations.
• Manages inbound faxes, portal messages, referrals and direct messaging per office procedure.
• Accurately registers patients and collects copays or payments.
• Reports to Practice Manager and supports other clerical duties as requested.
