Job summary

Sanford Health in Fargo, ND is seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide exceptional customer service at the first point of contact. You will handle registration, scheduling, and payments while creating a welcoming, accurate patient experience in clinic or by phone.

Responsibilities include verifying demographics, routing documents, coordinating referrals, and supporting Telemed and chart coordination as part of the Revenue Cycle team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education helpful.
• One year of work experience in a medical office preferred.
• Medical terminology helpful; customer service experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics; collect co-pays, pre-payments and payments.
• Operate multi-line phone and route documents; assist with insurance questions.
• Coordinate referrals, pre-authorizations and interpreter services as needed.

Come join our collaborative team supporting physical therapy services. Position will be responsible for both registration and scheduling (in person and via phone). Will work M-F daytime hours with midday shifts ending at 5p daily.

• Greet patients & verifies demographics
• Creating, scanning & routing documents or electronic forms
• Inform patients what the document is & capture signatures on necessary paperwork
• Establishes and assigns financial responsibility and assists with arrangements while adhering to appropriate policies and procedures
• Collects co-payments, pre-payments, and payments on account balances
• May work through the registration work queue to address and resolve registration errors or denied insurance claims

SCHEDULING

• Work with nursing team & providers to coordinate & schedule appointments to meet patient’s needs, coordinate provider schedule
• Obtain and coordinate referrals & conduct pre-authorization
• Arrange interpreter services
• Check patients in/out
• Operate multi-line phone
• May resolve work queue issues, manage recall and waitlists, & serve as switchboard operator calling codes and paging providers

ADDITIONAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE

• Preparation & coordination of charts
• Organize supporting provider documents
• Initiation & collaboration of patient financial assistance
• Track patient visits & health information management on patient accounts
• Compile, distribute, administer, and score assessments
• Coordination of Telemed appointments
• Reminder calls for appointments
• Hospital admission
• Office duties, such as make copies or send faxes

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Post-secondary education helpful.

One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Medical terminology helpful; customer service skills essential. Six months' customer service experience desired.

May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings.
