Jefferson Health Plans is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access Representative at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington Main Campus (Pennsylvania). You will register patients, collect demographics and insurance information, verify coverage, and collect out-of-pocket liability at the time of service, while delivering a positive patient experience.

Requirements: High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of customer service experience. Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration.

Hours: Monday: 6:30-12p, Tuesday: 6:30-11a, Friday: 6:30a-11a, Saturday: 6:30-12p

Job Description

Summary

Provides a positive patient experience to patients and families. Demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills while registering patients. Accurately searches and selects the correct patient. Gathers complete and accurate demographic and insurance information from patients and families. Identifies uninsured patients for referral to Medical Assistance/Charity Care evaluation. Retrieves orders, confirms medical necessity and answers phones for outpatient visits.

Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
• Gathers accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Requests and scans photo ID and insurance cards.
• Verifies insurance coverage, referrals, and authorizations.
• Collects patient out-of-pocket liability at time of service.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 3 years of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
