The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access professional to ensure smooth check-in and discharge processes, collect patient information, verify insurance, explain policies, and answer questions.

You will greet patients, enter data into systems, schedule appointments, collect payments, obtain pre-authorizations, and escalate complex issues to senior staff. High school diploma required; 1–2 years in admitting, scheduling, registration, or insurance verification preferred.

  • 1-2 years admitting, scheduling, registration, or insurance verification experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient check-in and discharge process by providing excellent customer service, collecting patient information, verifying insurance coverage explaining policies & procedures, and handling patient questions.

  • Schedule appointments and confirm patient information
  • Explain insurance and billing policies/procedures to patients

  • Handle patietn questions, concerns and issues, while escalating any complex or difficult situations to patient access senior staff or manager
