Jefferson Health Northeast in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our Bucks Campus team. The role involves greeting patients, registering information, verifying insurance, collecting copays, and ensuring a smooth check-in process for outpatient visits.

You will work evenings (3pm–11pm) every other weekend, requiring strong customer service and accuracy. Prior healthcare experience and a high school diploma are preferred; a degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 3 years of healthcare customer service experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families and register demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance coverage, referrals, and authorizations.
• Collect patient out-of-pocket liability at time of service.
• Search and select correct patient and gather complete information for outpatient visits.

Job Description Summary

Provides a positive patient experience to patients and families. Demonstrates strong communication and customer service skills while registering patients. Accurately searches and selects the correct patient. Gathers complete and accurate demographic and insurance information from patients and families. Identifies uninsured patients for referral to Medical Assistance/Charity Care evaluation. Retrieves orders, confirms medical necessity and answers phones for outpatient visits.

Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson Gathers accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Requests and scans photo ID and insurance cards.
• Verifies insurance coverage, referrals, and authorizations.
• Collects patient out-of-pocket liability at time of service.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED 3 years of healthcare customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
