Job summary

Breg, Inc. is seeking a Patient Access Lead to join on-site at multiple US locations, including Oklahoma City, OK.

The role focuses on leading patient access operations, ensuring compliant billing, and driving customer-focused outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating SO P-compliant operations, partnering with Revenue Cycle Management, and guiding a team through onboarding and continuous learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors operational performance and drives achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly objectives, including claim processing and reimbursement, collections, and metrics.
  • Escalation point for complex patient inquiries and concerns related to orders, referrals, authorizations, and billing matters.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert (SME) for Patient Access operations, assisting with claim volume management and providing guidance to team members and partners.
  • Contributes to development and continuous improvement of Patient Access workflows, billing processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensures adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards across non-clinical operations.
  • Partners with leadership to onboard, train, coach, and develop Patient Access team members and external sales partners.
  • Collaborates with Field Inventory Leadership and cross-functional teams to support timely product delivery and exceptional patient experience.
  • Maintains understanding of clinical documentation requirements and ensures accurate collection and review of patient and claim information.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes administrative tasks supporting day-to-day Patient Access activities.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal departments, healthcare providers, patients, payers, and partners to promote communication and success.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and accountability to drive positive team performance and customer service excellence.
  • Oversees PSC administration and communicates disruptions to leadership and support teams.
  • Prepares and distributes operational reports and reviews, identifying trends and opportunities in referrals and service performance.
  • Partners with Revenue Cycle Management and Payor Contract teams to ensure compliance with payor requirements and patient responsibilities.
  • Ensures patient services and billing activities comply with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Adheres to HIPAA and FDA requirements and promotes Breg’s culture and values.

What You’ll Do

As a Patient Access Lead, you will:

  • Monitors operational performance and drives achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly operational objectives,
    including claim processing and reimbursement, collections, and key metrics expectations, recommending
    corrective actions as needed.
  • Serves as escalation point for complex patient inquiries and concerns related to orders, referrals, authorizations,
    and billing matters, exercising independent judgment to facilitate resolution.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert (SME) for Patient Access operations, assisting with claim volume management
    and providing guidance, consultation, and support to team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Patient Access workflows, billing
    processes, and operational procedures to enhance efficiency, productivity, quality, patient satisfaction, and
    reimbursement outcomes.
  • Ensures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and established quality standards
    across all non-clinical operations.
  • Partners with leadership to ensure effective onboarding, training, coaching, and continuous learning initiatives for
    Patient Access team members and external sales partners, as needed.
  • Collaborates proactively with Field Inventory Leadership and cross-functional teams to support timely product
    delivery and an exceptional patient experience.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of clinical documentation requirements and ensures accurate collection and
    review of necessary patient and claim information.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes administrative and operational tasks that support business needs and the day-to-day
    activities of the Patient Access organization.
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal departments, healthcare providers, patients,
    payers, and business partners to promote effective communication and operational success.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and accountability by influencing positive team performance, driving engagement,
    and fostering customer service excellence.
  • Oversees the Patient Service Center (PSC) administration functions, communicating operational disruptions,
    including power outages, severe weather events, or other circumstances impacting PSC operations, to appropriate
    leadership and support teams.
  • Prepares and distributes operational reports and business reviews for key stakeholders, identifying trends and
    opportunities related to patient referrals, order activity, and service performance.
  • Partners with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Payor Contract teams to ensure compliance with payorspecific
    requirements, including insurance verification, benefits review, prior authorization, claim processing, and
    patient financial responsibilities.
  • Ensures patient services and billing activities are conducted in accordance with organizational compliance
    requirements, payer guidelines, and applicable accreditation standards.
  • Adheres to all Breg policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and applicable healthcare regulations, including
    Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements.
  • Responsible for behaving in a professional manner both internally and externally in relationships that positively
    impact the company's reputation and comply with the company's policies and practices. Responsible for being

Salary Range: $48,000-$65,000 USD Annually. Actual compensation is determined by factors such as experience, skills, and business needs. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary/pay across all US locations. Actual pay is based on many factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographical location, work experience, skill set, relevant trainings and certifications, and business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus.
