Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) to support Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center’s revenue cycle. You will greet patients, collect demographics, verify insurance and obtain pre-certification as required, and enter data into the ADT system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

This part-time role (8 hours per week) requires strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a busy, high-stress office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in patient access (scheduling, registration and financial clearance) preferred.
• Experience with insurance verification and billing preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements.
• Ability to communicate professionally with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients arriving for appointments.
• Complete patient registration and verify demographics.
• Verify insurance benefits and estimate patient liability.
• Identify patients needing financial assistance and refer to Financial Counselor.
• Perform visit closure, schedule follow-ups and collect balances.
• Maintain confidentiality and support process improvements.
