Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center in Alabama is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to collect and analyze demographic, insurance, and clinical data for scheduling and billing. You will verify payor requirements and ensure accurate information flows through the hospital's billing system.

The role involves interacting with patients and representatives in a compassionate, service-oriented manner while explaining available payment options and resolving financial questions.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent with vocational training.
• Ability to read, understand written and verbal instructions and interpret medical data.
• Ability to operate office machines, computers and software packages.
• Typing 35 wpm.
• One to two years' office experience.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with physicians, patients, family members and payers.

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data from multiple sources for scheduling, registration and billing.
• Screens effectively for compliance with payor requirements for medical necessity and pre-certification and completes third party eligibility and benefit verification to ensure accurate payment is secured.
• Interacts in a customer focused and compassionate manner to ensure patients and their representatives' needs are met and they understand hospital's revenue cycle expectations, including resolution of personal liabilities through various payment options.
