Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a PRN Physical Therapy Technician to join the Beaumont Center Circle team. This role provides direct patient care under the on-site supervision of a PT or PTA, preparing patients and treatment areas and maintaining department order.

Eligible candidates should have a high school diploma, on-the-job competency training, and BLS certification. The position supports a busy outpatient PT department and requires flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• On-the-job training including initial and annual competency training/demonstration.
• This includes successful completion and maintenance of BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient treatments under the onsite supervision of a PT or PTA.
• Prepare the patient and the treatment area for treatment and maintain department order.
• Renders safe, appropriate treatment under supervision according to policies and procedures.
• Transfer and position patients appropriately.
• Report changes in condition or adverse reactions to the therapist.
• Assist with clerical duties as needed.
• Keep gym, office, treatment areas and equipment room neat and orderly.
• Assist other staff to promote efficient delivery of PT services.

JobSummary:

The Physical Therapy Technician works only under onsite supervision of a PT or PTA. Perform specific patient treatments as directed by the therapist.Prepare the patient and/or treatment area for treatment, and responsible for maintaining the physical order of the department. Direct patient care is provided to patients from adolescent through adult to the geriatric age group.

EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:

Perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific function may change from time to time.

Carries out the principles of positive customer relations.

Renders safe, appropriate treatment under the on-site supervision of a PT/PTA according to departmental policies and procedures.

Transfers and positions patients appropriately.

Reports any change in condition or adverse reaction of the patients to the therapist.

Maintains physical order of the department.

Cleans equipment following each patient’s use and processes trash and linen appropriately.

Assist with the clerical duties as needed.

Keeps gym, office areas, treatments areas, and equipment room neat and orderly.

Assist other support staff in order to promote efficient delivery of PT services.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of on-the-job training, including initial and annual competency training/demonstration.

This includes successful completion and maintenance of BLS certification.
