Job Description: The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for oversight of revenue cycle activities related to patient registration, referrals, precertification/pre-authorization, insurance verification, co-pay collections, customer service functions and training pertaining to front end operations to ensure financial goals are met. Completes and evaluates Patient Access functions and creates the first impression of UMC’s services to patients and families and other external customers. Articulates information in a manner that patients, guarantors and family members understand so they know what to expect and understand their financial responsibilities.
Other Functions: Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times Performs other duties as assigned
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience: Two years of relevant patient access experience (required)
