Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in medical terminology, clerical work, or healthcare environments is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with computers, Meditech, and registration procedures.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and work flexibly to meet department needs.
  • Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors courteously in person and by phone.
  • Perform registration, verify identities, and enter billing codes accurately.
  • Schedule appointments, pre-register patients, and update patient status.
  • Explain insurance information, collect co-pays, and process billing procedures.
  • Support department operations, data entry, report mailing, and document management.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address questions, and promote hospital services.
  • Support staff development through training and participate in quality initiatives.
  • Adapt to departmental needs while maintaining professionalism and safety.
