Job summary

Prisma Health in Greenville seeks a Billing Specialist to perform full-cycle patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture and posting payments, coding diagnoses and posting to systems in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

You will liaise with patients and medical staff, verify insurance, collect payments, file insurance claims, manage accounts, and support outpatient coding and resolution of discrepancies. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• No prior experience required; multi-specialty setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture and coding as directed.
• Post payments, balance with reports at day end, and file insurance claims.
• Greet patients, verify insurance information and assist with forms.
• Collect payments, establish payment plans, and resolve billing inquiries.
• Support outpatient coding and error resolution, and maintain patient accounts.
