Job summary

Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder, TX is seeking an Admissions Clerk to coordinate patient admissions and ensure accurate data collection in our electronic records system. You will welcome patients, explain hospital policies, interview individuals, and route information to ancillary departments to support care delivery.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, prior office experience (admitting or medical insurance a plus), strong basic computer skills, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous general office experience and/or admitting/medical insurance experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork within a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Arrange for efficient admission of patients and ensure orderly admission of inpatients and outpatients.
• Collect patient information and inform patients about hospital policies and procedures.
• Interview incoming patients or representatives and enter required information into the computer database.
• Distribute relevant information to ancillary departments.
