Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (minimum two years in related field).
  • Experience in education, student services, advising, enrollment management, or workforce development.
  • Preferred Master's Degree and higher education or dual enrollment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues and best practices.
  • Assist with student application, admissions, and acceptance processes.
  • Coordinate student orientation programs and registration for Early College students.
  • Monitor academic progress, identify at-risk students, and coordinate intervention plans.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

The Coordinator of Early College & Pathways serves as the primary coordinator for Hinds Community College's Early College initiatives while also supporting student success within the Construction and Manufacturing Career Pathways.

This position is responsible for coordinating student recruitment, admissions, enrollment, onboarding, academic progress, parent engagement, advising, and retention efforts. Additionally, this position serves as the student navigator for Construction and Manufacturing pathway students by providing individualized support throughout the student lifecycle.

The Coordinator serves as the liaison among Hinds Community College, partnering school districts, students, parents, faculty, academic departments, and workforce partners to ensure students receive exceptional support from enrollment through completion.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two years of experience in education, student services, advising, enrollment management, workforce development, or a related field.

Preferred

Master's Degree. Experience in higher education. Experience working with dual enrollment, early college, career and technical education, or student success initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

Assist with student application, admissions, and acceptance processes.

Coordinate student orientation programs.

Assist with placement testing and admissions requirements.

Coordinate registration for all Early College students.

Ensure students are appropriately enrolled according to degree plans.

Monitor student academic progress.

Conduct regular academic check‑ins.

Identify at‑risk students and coordinate intervention plans.

Monitor attendance and communicate concerns.

Coordinate parent meetings.

Track enrollment and retention.

Monitor GPA and academic standing.

Develop reports related to student success.

Collaborate with principals, counselors, and administrators.

Coordinate annual student scheduling.

Assist with scholarship and transfer information.

Coordinate employer engagement activities.

Assist with internship placement.

Maintain communication with business and industry partners.

Monitor credential completion.

Perform other duties as assigned.
