Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY invites a fellowship-trained Transfusion Medicine Physician to join the Division at Montefiore Medical Center and affiliated hospitals. The role includes complex transfusion consultations, overseeing apheresis, on-call coverage, and teaching medical students and residents.

You will contribute to policy development, compliance, and patient blood management initiatives, with opportunities for leadership.

Qualifications

• MD/DO required with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine.
• New York State medical license required (or eligible).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complex transfusion consultations and oversee apheresis procedures.
• Provide on-call and service coverage for transfusion medicine.
• Participate in teaching of medical students and residents; contribute to conferences and grand rounds.
• Contribute to policy development, compliance with regulations, and accreditation requirements.
• Support and enhance patient blood management initiatives and quality improvement.

Candidates must be board certified in CP or AP/CP and in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:• Delivering complex transfusion consultations, overseeing apheresis procedures, and providing support for complex coagulation conditions.• Providing on-call and service coverage.• Participating in the teaching of medical students and residents, as well as in departmental conferences and grand rounds.• Contributing to the development of policies and procedures.• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as accreditation requirements.• Supporting and enhancing patient blood management initiatives.• Collaborating with institutional leadership, physician colleagues, and nursing teams to ensure high-quality patient care.• Participating in transfusion-related quality initiatives and process improvements.Qualifications:• MD/DO• Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine• NYS medical license• NYS CoQ in transfusion services and immunohematology• Strong written and verbal communication skillsAdditional leadership opportunities and/or responsibilities commensurate with training, experience, and academic interest, including participation in translational or clinical research.Montefiore Medical Center is a university-affiliated health care system serving the Bronx, Rockland, Orange and Westchester County and includes the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein (CHAM). Academic appointment to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine is commensurate with credentials and experience.Annual salary is in the range of $250,000-$375,000 and is dependent on years of experience.
