Job summary

AccessHealth in Maryland is seeking a General Pathologist to join a hospital-based pathology group as a board-certified or eligible pathologist, focusing on general surgical pathology and non-gyn cytology. Qualifications

General Pathologist

Role Overview:

Join a hospital-based pathology group as a board-certified or eligible pathologist, primarily focusing on general surgical pathology and non-gyn cytology cases. Responsibilities include immediate assessment of frozen sections, handling grossing issues, and providing general pathology consultation. The role involves oversight of a clinical pathology department, with initial guidance from the medical director.

Key Responsibilities:

Review over 16,000 surgical pathology cases and 2,000 cytology cases, including GI, GU, breast, gyn, lung, and skin biopsies. Share on-call duties, mostly manageable from home, including weeknights and weekends. Support intra-departmental reviews of challenging cases. Educational involvement through volunteer opportunities is available.

Qualifications & Skills:

Board certification or eligibility, ability to obtain Maryland medical license. Experience is preferred but not mandatory. Additional fellowship training is a plus. Strong diagnostic skills, teamwork, and adaptability are essential.
