UTMB Health in Galveston, Texas invites applications for a tenure-track Open Rank/Open Track Faculty position in the Department of Pathology. The successful candidate will establish an innovative, externally funded independent research program addressing fundamental and translational questions in pathology.

Areas of interest include infectious diseases, host–pathogen interactions, immunology, vaccinology, cancer, genomics, precision medicine, neurobiology, or related fields.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MD/PhD with postdoctoral research experience.
  • Expertise in cell biology, immunology, genomics or neurobiology with high-impact publications is preferred.
  • Physician-scientists with clinical-translational research interests are encouraged to apply.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with independent extramural funding potential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an innovative, externally funded, independent research program addressing fundamental and translational questions in pathology.
  • Address diverse areas including infectious diseases, host–pathogen interactions, immunology, vaccinology, cancer, genomics, precision medicine, neurobiology or related fields.
  • Engage in collaborative, multidisciplinary research using computational, translational or data-integrative approaches.
