The Pathology Lab Assistant manages/processes body fluid specimens, requisitions, order entry, and sending out specimens. The assistant accessions specimens, identifies tissue samples and accurately documents in EMR specimens received. This position recognizes and investigates problems and engages in courteous communication both in person and on the telephone. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations.**Essential Job Functions:*** Handles tissues specimens and storage. Processes body fluid specimens and prepares specimen aliquots. Ability to stay organized, prioritize, initiate actions as needed with good judgement, problem solving skills and shift gears in a busy environment.* Receives specimen and verifies accurate specimen and requisition labeling.
