Job summary

Fairview Health Services seeks a Pathologists' Assistant to join the Pathology team at M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital. This full-time, day-shift role operates generally Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekend work.

Qualifications

• Must hold NACCLS-accredited PA training and provide diploma or transcript.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biochemical Sciences with applicable certification.
• ASCP PA certification within 1 year (or upon hire) for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination of surgical specimens and report findings.
• Review dictations for accuracy.
• Select and submit tissue sections for microscopic examination and ancillary testing.
• Perform gross and microscopic photography as needed.
• Ensure samples are labeled and processed correctly and assist gross room staff as needed.
• Maintain accurate block labeling, counts, and processing; communicate discrepancies promptly.
